Bas’s family is from Holland and on his wedding day they sent over some clogs for him and Tania so it was only fitting that we photograph the pairs sent over for the boys. Hmmm might be a while before they can run around the house in them, but so cute. Thank you Tania and Bas again for letting me in on your special moments in your lives. Meet Yupin and Glen and their Bump. We had a lovely afternoon at Main Beach on the Gold Coast.

I suggested that we take the photos on the family farm. Knowing home like I do I knew the light would be incredible and we did the sitting half an hour before sunset. The light just lingers…A dream for any photographer, and a beautiful farm too.

Kathleen warned me she hates having her photo taken………Oh sure!

A bit of cheek and spunk is always welcome with me.

We headed across the river the beautiful Siggis restaurant in Brisbane City.

Now the reason for my blog title is this. Every guest at the party received a little red box with Chinese symbols for love and luck cut into the walls of the box and inside were these two little wooden dolls (Little Kathleen and Kierans) I love these!

So little Kathleen and Kieran went for a wander with me all around the restaurant.

I did take the real two outside for some great night shots.

Ha Ha.

Everyone had a wonderful time and their were cameras everywhere.

Cheers to you both to new beginnings, luck and a long, happy life together. That vacant seat was for me which was so lovely of you both to let me join the celebrations and the fabulous food. I look forward to our next project together. To finish I found a lovely Chinese Proverb for you “Kissing is like drinking salted water, you drink and your thirst increases”

We headed back to Studio Yates for a coffee and for some more portraits with a different feel. Look at these shoes (Oh Jimmy Choos)…I was green with envy

3 hours later we had amassed quite a collection of photos and each one reflecting what an amazing person Natasha is. It was an honour to have such a creative input and document how incredible Natasha is. Thank you so much for an inspiring morning.

How you doin?

Going my way little lady? Ok no more cheesiness from me.

We had to park the car just for a few moments to focus on our lovely two. Vanessa was all over it and then told me this was her first time in front of the camera…..Cant wait for the wedding day!

I think they forgot I was there.

We had to move the car and there were some teenage guys hanging around, Stu started the car up and the look on these boys faces was priceless. And music to my country girl ears.

We had a great afternoon in the city. You guys were amazing to photograph, I just stood there and watched the fantastic chemistry and that hot hot car and matching lady to boot. Love it!

So let me introduce you to our amazing couple Shane and Larenda. I photographed Shane a little over a year ago when he was one of the best men for Nick and Nardia. And now he is the “Best Man” for his lovely lady Larenda. So after no objections from Mickey, (I think he scrambled to find if his passport was current) and Lila, we planned our journey to Patong Beach. I insisted that we do a family portrait first, seeing I was there and was keen to photograph little Luella, Shane and Larenda’s gorgeous daughter. So the first part of the blog is dedicated to our family portrait on the beach at Patong.

Ohhhhh!

This was hilarious, everywhere Shane and Larenda went, people wanted to photograph Lulu. Here I am trying to be the professional and I get pushed to the side to let the paparazzi in.

Oh she looks like Daddy, but has her Mumma’s beautiful nature.

Shane, mate I am so proud of you for getting on the beach for me. I found out that Shane hates the sand. He looks pretty comfortable, I think.

This is one proud Daddy, very proud of his beautiful girls and super happy that tomorrow he would marry in front of their closest friends and family, his beautiful bride.

THE BIG DAY – THAI STYLE

Welcome to The Baan Yin Dee Boutique Resort in Patong. Ceremony, Reception and accomodation all in one. Beautiful place. We started the day with casual drinks in Shane and Larenda’s suite.

“Yes honey, I am going to marry you today”

We sent everyone down so Larenda could start getting ready with a bit of help from her Mum Miranda.

Oh gosh, what a stunning lady. Shane you are a lucky man.

The girls had matching dresses, so sweet.

Here comes our beautiful bride.

Now this photo is interesting…Here I am doing my wonderful job, getting ready for little William, Shane’s nephew, to walk down the aisle with the rings and he has a beautiful blonde on his arm…Lila my little girl. No one warned me, of course they looked very cute together.

A very romantic ceremony. Just so much love between these two, of course I was in tears.

A quick couple of shots with me before going back to party with everyone.

I had never seen Lotus Flowers like this and couldn’t help but photograph them, the flowers were just everywhere for the wedding.

The night was flowing fantastically along with the Thai beer. And the karaoke, please note the Thai version of Elvis on the piano. This is the resort’s resident piano man eager to entertain us every night.

A lovely dance to a bit of Keith Urban and just to top it off some fire works put on by the resort guys. One of the lovely men accidentally let one off in his hand, I think. It was a bit of a drama for a minute, but then lots of cheering when he told us he was ok. What a legend.

We moved out the back for a lantern ceremony. Everyone from the wedding had their own lantern to let off into the sky accompanied by their wish.

Now, we had a good chat about these shots before we even left Australia. I was very excited about putting our bride and groom in the heart of Patong’s famous nightlife and in particular some shots with the “Ladyboys”. See if you can spot them.

Wow, what a great time. It wouldn’t have mattered if the wedding was in the middle of nowhere, these guys would have had an amazing time anywhere. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for flying us over and letting us hang out with everyone, and for having such tremendous faith in what I could do for you. Can we go again next year?

And last but not least was a wonderful couple of mine Mark and Mandy who let me look after their wedding last March. Mark and Mandy live in NZ and made a special trip to the studio to introduce me to a lovely little man called Mattijs. He is so cute. And has the cutest little jeans. Awwwwwww.

It is such a joy for me to be apart of these growing stories.
