When Rooster Met Sammy
The Rooster (Steve) and Sammy tied the knot at the very beautiful Maleny Manor on April 17.
Can I tell you what a lucky girl I am…..I met Miss Sammy way back when she had a quick break from her defence duties which have kept her in Afghanistan for some time. We met, we clicked, we laughed hysterically at the thought of her being in white for a day instead of her usual beige attire. I thought it would be hilarious if Sam had a beige wedding dress. The Rooster was keeping the peace as a fighter pilot on loan to the USA Air Force…think Top Gun, Goose and Maverick, just throw in a Rooster for good measure! So unfortunately I didn’t get to meet this famous Rooster for some time.
Sammy and I emailed away for the next six months with Beige jokes and dreams of an awesome wedding day. One dream in particular Sammy informed me about was about me. She dreamt that I was no where to be found on the big day, then someone spotted me in Maleny wearing a tie-died blue shirt and had a disposable camera which I told her I was going to use at the wedding. Oh dear……There is a point to my babbling here…. Sammy and Rooster arrived in Oz 3 days before the wedding and dropped around to the studio to say hi and drop off a little present to me, a blue tie-died shirt. So I turned up to the very fancy Maleny Manor on the big day with my blue tie-died shirt on. I am sure Marlene and the staff were wondering who the fruit cake photographer was. Sam’s Mum answered the door we all had a great laugh at how ridiculous I looked and then we got down to business, as seriously as we could….I don’t do serious so well and neither does Sam.
Enjoy!

Just a note, I did all of my post production in my tie-die shirt to get me into the spirit.

Not a beige outfit in site, and Sammy at her best….

Hello Lady…looking hot, hot, hot!

I said something really rude during the group photo that I probably shouldn’t have but I this awesome shot with both Mum’s Chris and Wendy having a giggle at my expense.

Did I tell you how much I love Maleny…..Its a dream for me to photograph.

And so are these two.

I just had such an amazing day, and can I say it is truly incredible to document two people who are just absolutely made for each other in every way. Watching this is the most amazing feeling and when you see this kind of love, nothing else matters in life.
Guys, love to you both and thank you for choosing me! I hope Vegas is going well.

Hello hello – greetings from Paris!!
We LOVED reading the story, it was such an amazing day, and I loved it that we were able to enjoy it so much with you as well. I hope that anyone else who reads this blog gets to see just how much fun we had on the day, and how much fun we had working with you. Anyone planning a wedding in and around Brisbane would be crazy not to work with someone as friendly and professional as you. We are so happy with our photos – and our guests can’t believe how well we scrubbed up – haha!
Can’t wait to get back in touch when we return to Vegas, but love to you and your family. Hope all the other weddings you do are as fabulous as ours.
Everybody say ‘Whale’!
Sammy and Rooster xx
